Liminal Space Series

The word “liminal” comes from the Latin root, limen, which means “threshold.” The liminal space is the “crossing over” space – a space where you have left something behind, yet you are not yet fully in something else. It’s a transition space. I was moved to begin these paintings after witnessing my mother’s passing via Zoom in May of 2020. This is an on-going series as I continue to explore liminal spaces in all of the ways that they occur in our ever changing universe.
